FUR FACTS: Nearly 2.9 million passengers will pass through LAX from Friday December 17 through January 2nd 2011 and some of those nearly 3 million passengers will have pets.

The number #1 tip is to : BE EARLY and I might add be CALM so that your fluffy people don't pick up on your aniexty. Maybe throw a little Bachs Remedy in your tea and rub on the gums of your pets for extra tranquility in the airport.

So, I have been following Daily Kibble for years and enjoy your unique
voice and posh image. When and how did you first decide to develop your
idea into such a wonderful business and how has your voice or depth of
coverage expand?

Daily Kibble started as a casual conversation between two dog-loving and
pet-doting friends who lived on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and joined
forces to create a trendy, clever, fun daily e-mail for like-minded
petlovers wanting to be in-the-know. We’ve grown purely via word-of-mouth
beginning with friends who coveted our own fabulous finds for our pets, to
a national audience of readers for whom pets are full-fledged family
members entitled to life’s finest luxuries. The original idea arose
because people were often stopping both of us on the street in Manhattan
asking where they could get what our pet(s) were wearing, playing with,
munching, using, and enjoying.

Your website www.dailykibble.com was designed to be a resource for pampering pets, what was the most shocking decadence you scooped the poop and did it break anyones petbook vs their checkbook?

There are so many of course, but Ilovedogdiamonds.com certainly comes to

How has running daily kibble enhanced your own pet’s life?

Being at the crossroads of anything and everything pet-related such as
upcoming products, healthcare, safety, trends, ethical issues, rescue,
clever innovations and more, gives us a broad perspective not otherwise
possible. Moreover, it’s our job and raison-d’etre to track the latest and
greatest, hottest and coolest everything for pets. So, it’s the perfect
mix of business and pleasure, all of which flows directly to the benefit
of our own furbabies.

What 3 dog items are most essential to you?
Mmmmmm. That’s a tough one. Certainly a top quality dog food, toys that

Essentially, that covers (as Freud saw it!) what life’s about: love and

You come up with creative and informative content every day and I love

1. TRIMMING – regular trimming can prevent cracked or broken nails. Stacy cautions you not to go overboard as you can cut into the quick if you over trim. So get in the habit of regularly checking and trim when needed. Some dogs grow more hair than others in between their toes, so keeping this hair trimmed will help prevent paw irritation and debris from being tangled in their fur.

2. DAILY PAW CHECK – By checking dog paws daily you will see if your dog incurred any cuts, scrapes or splinters, especially after any extra-curricular activities. I think we take our glossies for granted, because everyday I see another dog specific magazine added to the shelves of Barnes and Noble!

I always look for who Pet Mania profiles and count myself lucky to have them in my FUR DOGS group and loved their write up on Bocker Labradoodle!

I asked Indy to answer a few questions about her interests in the industry and her passion for PET MANIA magazine which is written in Thai.

When did Pet Mania first launch?
PetMania was launched in August 2005.

As the premier Pet Magazine catering to the Pet Loving and Thai Elite how did your magazine build such a great awareness in the US ?
Actually PetMania Magazine is the THAI language edition, our real targets
are people in Thailand only but the nowaday technology help us to build awareness to foreign readers by surprise!

What are your 3 favorite Dog Stores in Thailand ?
There are significantly smaller amount of good quality oPet Stores in Thailand than in the US and Europe.

I will choose from my personaly experience which are Prima Dog @ Central Chidlom and Zen (not any more) with good service and nice product, MuMu Shop with differenciated Product and finally RoongRueng (1998) Pet Shop with high range of Product line and very friendly Price.

How are Thailand and US Pet Marketplaces similar and different in your opinion?

In my opinion, Thailand pet marketplaces are just only a small shop, the main products focusing on just dogs and cats and there are just a few product line in the shop when comparing to US it's totally difference. Since the culture is also differnce so the way of having a pet at home is also difference.

Who was your favorite interview to date?

My favourite celebrity is Natalie Glebova (Miss Universe in 2005), she not only beautiful but also very kind she adopt 2 cats from shelter in Thailand. We used to interview her last year with her 2 cats - Tammy and Molly.

If you could interview any famous dog lover in the world who would it be and why?

OH! there're so many, difficult to decide such as Jessica Alba, Richard Gere, Martha Stewart, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Oven, Zac Efron and more!

Personally I have 4 beagles and they love tennis ball so much. Their favourite activity is fetch the tennis ball.

Which came first - her love of fashion or dogs. I caught up with Fashionista Prep's Teen Ambassador, Junior Reporter for The Daily's, and creator of MAGGIE-ZINE to dish dog.

Maggie just graduated 8th grade, but her passion for fashion was created at a young age and developed with the support of Fern Mallis has attended more top designer Tent shows than a junior editor at VOGUE. ANNUAL STAND-UP COMEDY EVENT AT

Funny for Fido is a great organization that brings together top Comedians together to raise money for various Shelters and Rescue groups. The comedy fundraiser at Carolines On Broadway had NY talents Colin Quinn, Dave Attell, Robert Kelly, Amy Schumer, and Pete Correale. The event was hosted by Justin Silver, the founder of Funny for Fido and a talented comedian with a heart full of dogs and cats!

I was floored by the RESCUE INK TEAM, I am not sure if it was meant to be funny but lion size men purring like kittens over teeny tiny dogs, I tell ya, “That ain’t right”. Once I got past the oddity of seeing the towering muscle dense arms of Rescue Ink tattooed guys cradle abused and sick dogs as somewhat silly, I was really moved by how they work to stop dog abuse. Pet abuse and neglect is an epidemic that needs to be addressed as the data collected by The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) these grass-roots organizations like Rescue Ink, Mighty Mutts, Smilin Pitbull rescue, Posh Pets Rescue all lend their support and defend against animal abuse, with individual care. Smilin Pitbull had the sweetest girl named Piggy who is looking for a home. This dog was so loving – you might throw away all your washcloths since she can kiss any face clean!

Dog abuse is no laughing matter, luckily, these guys really give second chances and homes to the many animal rescues they are called on and they work with other groups like All these groups work to get the dogs food, shelter, medical care and permanent homes and Funny for Fido raises money to provide grants to cover costs.

Besides the amazing organizations, some top dogs in the industry donated time, product to Funny for Fido’s drive. One of my favorite pet shops in NYC, The Barking Zoo donated a fabulous assortment of treats for the goody bag with their signature tennis balls, frisbees and snacks to delight all the well-loved pups who have their forever homes and Lani dog gave their Woods candle fur all of us to enjoy. I was also delighted that Babette Haggerty lends her knowledge to train and rehabilitate some of the rescue dogs.

Dogs become such a huge part of our lives and when great actors take time to bark about their love of dogs in the Meat Packing District in NYC - everyone is gonna come to play! Many of the "Paw-thors" and NY celebri-pups clamored for their red carpet invite to attend the reading hosted by Alpo. I had the pleasure of interviewing Taye Diggs after he hosted a book-reading event for dog. If you missed it, look on www.alporealdogs.com to see the event, which they filmed!

Owners and dogs all wanted to take an extra side order of Taye and his super sassy dog Sammy Davis Jr with their meat! The crowd loved interacting with Taye and learning about he and his wife Idina Menzel are major animal lovers while they listed to charming vignettes about various dogs and their activities. Sammy Davis Jr. was such a charmer he did tricks, jumped in my lap during the interview and planted some very serious dog smooches on me!

I asked Taye why he was doing the event and he said, "He just thought it would be fun" and he was really intrigued by the message of how dogs should be dogs. Taye also discussed with me how he is amazed and disappointed by how many celebrities will dress up their dogs like accessories and not even realize the dogs’ needs. Most dogs are apt to want to take a hike in Runyon Canyon Dog Park or just collect sticks in Central Park than wear clothing, perfumes and feathers.

I am a huge fan of both Taye and his Idina and now I consider myself a huge fan of Sammy Davis Jr and hope to see him on GLEE or Private Practice with his parents.

I had to ask him one last question if I could steal Sammy. Many of you might know that I have my dog Zak because my Dad randomly asked a woman for her gorgeous Westie, so I could not resist asking! Taye gave his famous and giggled and I thanked him for his time.
